By public transportation

  • We can highly recommend using public transportation in Prague. It is fast, reliable, and affordable. The web site of the Prague Public Transit Company (Dopravní podnik hlavního města Prahy) is at https://www.dpp.cz/en/. You can use their journey planner to find the best route from any location to “Karlovo náměstí”.
  • Arriving at the airport, take the bus number 59 (one of perhaps two or three buses departing directly in front of the airport). After some 16 minutes, get off at the bus terminus, which is “Veleslavín” stop. Then change for the metro (subway, underground). Go downstairs to the station, there is just a single line A (green) which takes you downtown. Exist at “Můstek” station. Then change for line B (yellow) and get off at “Karlovo náměstí” station. Get out of the underground taking the E4 exit. This will lead you directly to the the entrance to the Czech Technical University, namely Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (see the map).
  • Should you take a tram from anywhere in Prague, get off at “Karlovo náměstí” stop. From there, walk some 30 meters towards the Czech Technical University main entrance (see the map).
  • While reaching the entrance to the university, there are turnstiles that will not let you go further. Ask the person serving at the reception to call your host.

By car

Traveling by car, you must use a different entrance – the gated one. You need to reach the Na Zderaze 4 address, see the map below:
